Do you have to renounce Evolution when you get baptised?

I would consult with a priest to see exactly what the Church requires. But, if answer are to be found in the Bible, I don't think it expressly addresses this. The bigger question is that although you say that you would raise a child as a Catholic, if you are not Catholic, how would you be able to do it without knowing what being a Catholic requires? I think your intentions are good, but again, you and your friend need to consult a priest. My thinking is that a priest would recommend a Catholic couple to be godparents.
