Thoughts on my cast of characters?

I enjoy the entire concept but instead of killing Izene could you. make it look like everyone thinks she is dead but she some how comes back by some strange power. because readers will want to put down the book if they find out the protagonists partner cannot be trusted at all, especially female readers. Make it so that Izene comes back and gets Tel out of his pathetic phase by knocking some kind of sense into him. But its just a suggestion after all it is your book.
