The Panic of 1837 was a result of?

The Panic of 1837 resulted when English bankers began calling in their loans to American firms. The firms were unable to get money because American banks were closing from the result of over speculation. The banks had depleted their gold supply by distributing funds to the states under the terms of the Distribution Act. Business failures skyrocketed, banks closed their doors, and farm prices went south.
