A Minecraft tragedy...?

So I've spent a great deal of time making a world in minecraft. I dug out a vast underground mining complex, built a three story castle and even made an enormous statue towering over it all (Don't judge me). Then I fell off of said statue. And died. And now I've respawned in the middle of nowhere and I can't find the virtual manifestations of all my hard work. So... is there any way I can get back there?
